Sunpentown IM-150US Undercounter Ice Maker

Purchased a Sunpentown IM 150US Undercounter Ice Maker Stainless Steel Door from you 6-7 months ago. Unit has always produced ice with dirt in the ice cubes. Water line to the unit runs clear. Two faucets next to the ice maker and connected to same main line run clear. Unit is now leaking water from the ice tray and making very little ice. Ice storage bucket is mostly water. Unit has been used very sparingly, holidays and special events

NewAir AI200SS Stainless Steel Portable Ice Maker

This ice maker is great, with one exception. The drain point is a plastic threaded tube, with a small rubber plug and a threaaded plastic cap. This may seem ok at first blush, but the cap will inevitably end up getting stripped which will eventually mean you will lose the rubber plug, which I finally have after about a year. Other than that though, it makes great ice quickly and isn't overly loud. The styling is nice and after I made a makeshift plug from a wine cork I wouldn't trade this maker for anything.

Whirlpool GI15NDXXS 15 Undercounter Ice Maker 25 lbs. Ice Storage, 50 lbs. Production: Stainless

The unit has been copied by many different makers under different names. The base unit hasn't changed since the 70's, just new electronic controls. It makes good quality clear ice. After a few years mine started making crunching sounds due to picking up air in the water recirculator.I could live with that. But then the water inlet valve started leaking under the machine where we couldn't see it. My wooden floors were ruined and the sheetrock ceiling below. If you get one put a catch pan like the ones under washing machines under it unless it's in a garage.

EdgeStar Full Size Ice Maker - 65 lb. Capacity

Great product. I've been using it for about 30 days.Lot of ice and might do very will in a Physical Therapy setting. The machine makes about 30 ice cubes every 15 minutes and will continue production until the bin has about 25 pounds of ice (two large bags), then it stops production. Cubes are clear ice (hard) about 1" in diameter and 1" long, bullet shaped and hollow. It is noisey dumping cubes into the plastic storage bin. The storage bin is not refrigerated, so over time the cubes will melt and be replaced by new cubes. This keeps the cubes from sticking together. Ice production resumes as the ice level melts down or you remove ice. Over a 24 hour period I was able to fill three medium sized ice chests buy emptying the bin about every eight hours. The only problem I've had was when installing the water line saddle I did not 100% open the water valve. This was starving the machine for water and the result was first it made a couple of dumps of milky colored ice and eventually a large block of ice formed on the cooling coils. Once I got it thawed out and deteremed the machine was starved for water I opend the valve 100% and it has worked like a dream every since. With some testing I determined the saddle valve (purchased at Lowes) didn't fully open until the last two full turns. How do you know if it's starved for water? The water tray must be full up to the draini line. Therefore, the water tray needs to maintain between 1.5" and 2" of water in it during the…

MAGIC CHEF ICE MAKER #MCIM30SST STAINLESS STEEL 30 LB

The icemaker I ordered was the model MCIM30SST. I received the one that makes 27 lbs of ice a day instead of the one that makes 30 lbs. I did not complain because Magic Chef is a great icemaker and difference in 3 lbs of ice did not matter to me. I have it set to medium size cubes and it kicks out cubes every 7 minutes. Its quiet and efficient and when the cube tray is almost full I dump the bullet shaped cubes into a gallon zip lock bag and put it in the freezer. I sell ice coffees at a farmers market once a week and this machine does the trick. It makes more than enough ice in one day than I need for the market. I love it.

U-Line : CLR2160B-40 15 Clear Ice Maker

Bought one a month ago and it is SOOOOO noisy. It drowns out conversation and is awful. I have a busy loud house with 5 kids so you would imagine we wouldnt hear it but it you cant believe how loud it is. The ice melts within seconds and we have had it adjusted many times. It makes slushy ice at loud noise level and is expensive, so nothing to recommend it. Am giving up on it and sending it back and trying out sub zero as have never had any issues with their products. Will keep you posted!!

GE Monogram Stainless Steel Automatic Ice Maker

This icemaker needs cleaning in order to function, that is why it gets some mixed reviews. First, try to supply softwater to the icemaker. That will solve most problems. However, if you have only hard water, you need to clean (every 6-8) months the freezing tray. IGNORE the cleaning instructions in the manual. Remove the cutting try and get a green scouring pad and use the cleaning solution on the pad to scrub the freezing tray until all hardwater buildup is gone -- until the metal surfaces are slippery clean. Use front to back motions -- not left to right. Then reassemble and run a cleaning cycle on the icemaker. Then switch back to ice production mode. If you do this, the ice maker will run like brand new -- however, you will never find these instructions anywhere in the user manual.Having clear ice is wonderful! You will love this machine -- if you follow the above instructions at least 1 time per year. You will become a real "Ice-Snob." I gave only 4 stars because GE is brain dead not listing these cleaning instructions in their user manual and their telephone support people know less about this icemaker than the owner. But, because of the way clear icemakers work, you will probably need to maintain this appliance more often than a refrig or microwave. Just know this before you start. You don't just plug in it and run it for 5 years problem free. You need to clean periodically. It is amazing how much tiny amounts of hardwater buildup will stop this device from making…

Edgestar Under Counter Clear Ice Maker

I am in full agreement with the fist reviewer here. For the money, we found that this was an adequate ice maker. We did try it in the kitchen but unfortunately the noise level is simply too high to be tolerated. It was moved to on of our screened in back porches where it can hum its little head off as we do not set there all that much. The ice does indeed do some melting from time to time and it is good to have an ice pick handy to break up the clumps. The ice is quite clear and it does freeze well and efficiently. This is not an ice maker I would have inside the house but for the garage, porch or out of the way place it does fine and the price here is pretty good. But since it runs constantly do plan to have your electric bill go up a bit...we found this was so.On the other hand, we are going to be purchasing a new one soon and simply plan to fork out a bit more money this time and get precisely what we want.

The output is good and the result is great. I would recommend this to boaters, campers (with generators), or anyone else looking for a good ice maker without all the installation issues of a permanent system.
